Follow-up acupuncture care in this practice is valued at a minimum of $78 per visit. Some insurance plans reimburse less than this amount. When that happens, a Performance Pay fee is applied to cover the difference.

How Insurance Payment Works

Insurance reimbursement does not reflect visit length, clinical complexity, or treatment outcomes. Many plans reimburse acupuncture at rates below Medicare-defined reasonable and customary values.

If your insurance reimburses less than $78, the remaining balance is billed as a performance-based charge in addition to any copay or coinsurance.
