AUTO INSURANCE: If you have been in a motor vehicle accident in the past year your policy provides you with a minimum of $15,000 of personal injury protection to cover medial costs accrued during your recovery and healing. Acupuncturists are able to establish their own treatment plans and submit claims to insurance companies. You do not need a physician's referral. Acupuncture is effective for the relief of muscle pain and swelling and to speed healing following an injury. WORKERS' COMPENSATION: With an on the job work injury acupuncture can often be covered through the WC claim provided there is a referral from your primary care physician.
MEDICARE currently does not cover acupuncture.
